Hi kids! Do you like violence? Yeah, yeah! Wanna read some Trollbloods fighting Storm Legion nonsense? Wanna see me stumble into victory despite of my lack of competence? Squeeze some memes into a battle report, so I don’t get called out for low effort content? Alright, enough with the Eminem tribute act, let’s get down to business. Last week I got a game in with one of my buddies that hasn’t played in Mk4 yet. We chose 50 points so he could use his storm legion starter set.
The armies were:
(Storm of the North)
Borka
Rök
Champ Hero
Whelps
Battle Bears
Krielstone and Elder
Fire Eaters
Fire Eaters
(Storm Legion)
Athena
Courser with AP gun
Stryker with hammer and fist
Eiryss
Legionnaire Officer
Mechanics
Stormblades and Standard
Stormguard and Standard
We rolled off, I won the roll and chose to go first. I deployed centrally as trolls do and he spread out with each storm unit on the flanks. The jacks, mechanics and caster went somewhat in the middle.
First turn was uneventful. You could say that a storm was brewing (bad pun, I know, deal with it). I cautiously advanced my northkin, toeing the zone. My opponent did the same, with the exception of the Courser who shot and plinked some damage (half its boxes) on one of the bears, while Eiryss tagged Rök with a disruptor bolt, causing me some fury issues.
It’s top of 2, and seeing how much damage a bear took from one of those shots made me think this is feat turn.
The left flank fire eaters had some stormblade targets but only managed to kill one, since most of my fire went out. Right flank fire eaters lined up behind a wall and the bears hunkered down behind the house as I waited for the alpha. He answered by deleting the left flank eaters and nearly taking down the right flank ones, one guy survived due to poor rolls. Eiryss repo’d back behind the building. He kept his caster back in the safety of the trenches, feated, while his jacks and mechanics toed the zones. The Courser did some work, since it had eyeless sight, and left Rök on a handful of boxes. He scored a point.

Turn 3 comes around and I done messed up by giving my opponent such a nice alpha.
Although his dice kinda crapped out on him, so not all was lost. The plan was simple, kill as much as possible and try to score at least a zone. The bears were in a good spot to chew on some of the legionnaires on the left flank, which they did, since 3 of them were stationary. Rök shook himself off ate a whelp and with some help from Borka a.k.a. boundless charge, a.k.a. Northkin marching powder, he proceeded to delete the Stryker.

The lone fire eater with the help of the champ hero cleared the right zone, evening the score. His retaliation was again hampered by some bad dice rolls. One of the bears survived the clap back from the rest of the stormblades. I can’t quite remember what the Courser did, I want to say he polished off one of the bears after it made a tough roll. Rök was slammed by Athena’s force hammer but was still fully functional, although his ego was a little hurt, big trolls got feelings too. Eiryss plinked a whelp and retreated back behind the house, like the coward she is, as Bearka would say. All zones are contested, so the score is still even.
Cygnar 1 - Trollbloods 1
Top of 4 I end up walking Borka around the house to bonk Eiryss (that pointy eared freak needed to die) and repo’d back to safety, like the coward and hypocrite he is.
The last bear finished the remainder of my left flank, while the fire eater cleared the mechanic toeing the right zone. Rök ended up frenzying (the price to pay for primal) into my champ hero but failed to kill him, just made him pee pee in his pantaloons. I scored 2. He answered with not too much, since his forces were getting weaker and weaker. I believe he cleared the last bear and fire eater, then contested with mechanics on my right zone. As a side note… PETA, hit me up, these Cygnarians are strait up murdering polar bears on the streets of Caspia… never mind what bears are doing in a city, they got rights. Back to serious business.
Cygnar 1 - Trollbloods 3
It’s turn 5 and I have a chance to end it here. So the champ hero charges in to clear the mechanics on the right zone, then send Rök up the middle, killing the Courser and objective, giving me the scenario points I needed to secure the victory.
Cygnar 1 - Trollbloods 6
It was a very fun, grindy game, where both players learned a lot. I made a few mistakes that were lessened by bad rolls from my opponent, better lucky than good, as they say. I had never played into one of the new armies, so it was eye opening for me as well. I found new Cygnar to be very strong, and able to do shooting and melee very efficiently. As much fun as it was and as muchas I learned, I will say the best thing I got out of this game was getting a returning player excited about Warmachine again, and that’s good enough for me. I hope you enjoyed this battle report and forgave me for my atrocious writing. It’ll get better… well, no promises. Until next time, friends, Bokur out.
